PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

With the passing of spring we are now through Engineer’s Week, March Madness, and the Easter Holiday. It is important that all of our professional engineer’s remember to follow-up to ensure that your applications for license renewal were processed, and new license issued. Many of us are still trying to get used to the new requirements for reporting the professional development hours obtained that are necessary for the license renewal application. This led to some delays in the state board processing license renewals. I encourage you to check the website to make sure that your applications were deemed complete and that you license is in the process of being renewed. If you are having any problems getting your license renewals, please don’t hesitate to contact one of our FES Board members for advice or assistance in getting through this process.

In March we held our monthly dinner meeting at The Strand Clubhouse in Naples. Our speaker was Janet Starnes with the South Florida Water Management District. She spoke to us about the District’s Everglades Restoration Program. This was a great opportunity to hear about a very large project, right here in our back yard. My thanks go out to those of you who attended. A big thank you, as well, to Janet for taking the time out of her busy schedule to speak with us.

The April dinner meeting will be a little different than the typical dinner meeting. It’s time to relax and do a little bowling. It’s time to get in touch with your inner Jeff Lebowski. We have arranged for a family event at Gator Lanes to bowl, eat and socialize. More information on when the meeting is, along with directions, can be found inside this newsletter. I hope to see many of you there.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you at the April meeting.
