PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
A new year has rolled around for the Calusa Chapter bringing a change in officers along with new visions and expectations. The June meeting at The Strand was the event each officer took their oath as a leader and member of a unique group. The Calusa Chapter has many members and is one of a few in the State that increases its membership every year. We also have the best participation at our monthly meetings and strong support by a group of professional firms that believe in the Chapter. As incoming President I hope that the Chapter will continue to grow and as each president before me, I hope that this year will provide the members with interesting guest speakers and extraordinary social events.
In the past few years I have noticed that our members have a passion for social gatherings where they can relax and be with friends; that’s understandable since each and every one of us are busier than we have ever been. When we have time off we like to make the most of it. So this next year I hope the Chapter can offer several events that give the members an opportunity to get together with their families and friends and enjoy themselves, whether it’s fishing, beach volleyball, a barbecue or another bowling competition. I may be calling a few of you to ask what you like to do and whom you might like to bring to the dinner meetings as guest speakers. If you have some ideas that you want to share, give me or one of the other officers a call. Adolfo Gonzalez (Vice President) and Elizabeth Fountain (Secretary) can be reached at Wilson Miller, one of FES greatest supporters. I can be reached at Hole Montes, my phone number is 985-1246.
Next month FES will be having its annual meeting at the Marco Island Marriot and the Calusa Chapter will be sponsoring a hospitality suite. The Hospitality Suite will be open Thursday August 4th from 8:30 pm to 10pm in Suite G/H/J. Marco Island is a wonderful island and offers members one of the most beautiful surroundings with great golf courses, restaurants, beaches and some of the best fishing grounds in the state. If you need help deciding what to do – stop by the hospitality suite and look me up. I am anxious to meet more of the Calusa Chapter members and as President, lead the officers in the direction that will satisfy our members and their families.
