PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

The FES Calusa Chapter held its annual golf tournament on Saturday October 15th to support the Engineering Student Scholarship program. A total of 18 teams competed in the scramble style tournament at Stonebridge Country Club to make this year’s program to best fund raising event the Calusa Chapter ever held. The tournament games were no doubt the key to its success, with Par Three Poker, Get In The String, Longest Ball and Closest To The Pin the extras that gave everyone a chance to win.

This year’s winners are:

First Place Vanasse & Daylor, LLP (John Musser, Bob Mitchell, Wally Ryerson, Wayne Robinson)
Second Place RWA, Inc. (Dwight Nadeau, Bob Roloff, Phil Gillogly, Chris Fivecoat)
Third Place Q. Grady Minor & Associates (Michael Herrera, Steve Burgess, Kevin Georgeson, Wayne Arnold)

Without our sponsors, the event would have never done as well. I want to thank all of the Hole Sponsors and FES Gold Sponsors who are listed below. It takes support from local businesses and Engineering firms to keep the Calusa Chapter alive and well. Looking at our success in membership retainage and membership growth over the past year, Calusa Chapter is the best in the State and it is due to your support.

Please see list of all the sponsors on page 2.

Finally, I want to express my gratitude to Dan Waters the Director of Ways and Means Committee and Allyson Swanson at Wilson Miller for the great job they have done this year. I am sure the funds that were collected will provide at least five scholarships again this year.

The Calusa Chapter also wants to recognize the new officers and members of the FES Student Chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). The new officers attended the Calusa Chapter Board of Directors meeting on October 19th at Perkins restaurant to learn the ins-and-outs of conducting a chapter meeting. The new officers of the FGCU student chapter are:

President: Lauren Regelman
Vice President: Casey Panepinto
Secretary/ Historian: Stephanie Mooney
Treasurer: John Stischock
Social Director: Ashley Roth

The Calusa Chapter is planning to help support the new student Chapter with a contribution of $1000.00 to help get them started.

Welcome to FES...

19TH Annual FES Calusa Chapter Scholarship Golf Tournament Summary

The 19th Annual FES Calusa Chapter Scholarship Golf Tournament was held October 15th at Stonebridge Country Club in Naples.  Over 80 members and friends gathered together at the golf course bright and early to kick-off a morning filled with eagles, birdies, and bogeys.  With 20 foursomes hacking away on the golf course, we were able to produce one of the successful tournaments yet!  The Calusa Chapter was able to raise over $5500, which will act as the primary means for providing scholarship funding to promote engineering education.

The first, second, and third place teams, listed consecutively, are Vanasse & Daylor, LLP (56), RWA, Inc. (59), and Q. Grady Minor & Associates (61).

Thank you to all who participated and supported the infamous golf tournament.  I hope every one plans to return next year and encourage your fellow engineers to do so as well!  I hope to see more success and participation each and every year.  Congratulations to the winners and all who participated!

A special Thank You! to all the sponsors this year:
